Description

Discover the ultimate comfort food with our Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes Recipe. Perfectly seasoned and loaded with cheese!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Russet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 8 ounces canned cheese sauce
  • 4 ounces sour cream

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel potatoes. Cut potatoes into ½ inch to ¾ inch cubes. Rinse potatoes off, and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees.
  3. Prepare seasoned flour for potatoes by combining flour, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper in a medium-sized bowl.
  4. Drop potato chunks into the flour, and coat well. Shake off excess seasoned flour before placing into the deep fryer.
  5. Deep fry for about 10 to 12 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown. Remove potatoes from the fryer, and drain on a wire rack.
  6. Heat cheese sauce, pour 2 ounces of cheese sauce over potatoes, and top with 1 ounce of sour cream.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature (350 degrees) for frying to achieve crispy potatoes.
  • Be cautious when frying to prevent overcrowding in the fryer, which can lead to uneven cooking.
  • Adjust the level of Cayenne Pepper based on your heat preference – add more for spicier potatoes or omit it for milder flavor.
  • Use a wire rack to drain the fried potatoes, which helps maintain their crispiness.
  • Feel free to customize your loaded potatoes by adding additional toppings like guacamole, chopped onions, and shredded cheese for extra flavor.
  • These seasoned flour-coated potatoes are perfect as a snack, side dish, or party appetizer.
