Description

Try Our refreshing Blueberry Moscow Mule Recipe. A perfect blend of tangy blueberries and classic mule ingredients for a delightful sip!

Ingredients

Scale

For Blueberry Simple Syrup:

  • 3 tablespoons fresh blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2-inch knob of fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

For Moscow Mules:

  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
  • 4 ounces vodka
  • 8 ounces ginger beer
  • Juice of one lime
  • Ice, for serving
  • Mint sprigs, lime wedges, fresh blueberries, for garnish

Instructions

Making Blueberry Syrup:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the fresh blueberries, fresh ginger (if using), granulated sugar, and water.

  2. Gently stir and smash the blueberries against the sides of the pan. Allow the mixture to simmer until all the sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a heat-safe container with a lid. This blueberry simple syrup can be stored in the fridge for at least 2 weeks.

Making Moscow Mules:

  1. In copper mugs, muddle the fresh blueberries until they are thoroughly mashed.

  2. Add the vodka, ginger beer, lime juice, and blueberry simple syrup evenly into the mugs over ice.

  3. Stir the ingredients together in the mugs to combine the flavors.

  4. Garnish each Moscow Mule with fresh mint sprigs, a lime wedge, and a few fresh blueberries.

  5. Serve your Blueberry Moscow Mules cold and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ginger Beer Selection: Choose a ginger beer that suits your taste preferences. Some ginger beers are spicier and more intense, while others are milder. Experiment with different brands to find the one you like best.

  • Copper Mugs: Using copper mugs is a classic choice for serving Moscow Mules. The metal helps keep the drink extra cold. However, if you don’t have copper mugs, regular glassware will work just fine.

  • Fresh Blueberries: For the best flavor, use fresh blueberries in both the simple syrup and as a garnish. However, if fresh blueberries are not in season, you can substitute with frozen ones.

  • Adjusting Sweetness: The blueberry simple syrup adds sweetness to the drink. If you prefer a sweeter Moscow Mule, you can increase the amount of blueberry simple syrup used.

  • Muddling: When muddling the blueberries, be gentle to avoid over-mashing them, which can make the drink too pulpy.

  • Customize the Garnish: Get creative with your garnishes. You can add extra fruits, herbs, or citrus slices to enhance the presentation and flavor.

  • Make It Alcohol-Free: If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the vodka and increase the amount of ginger beer. It’s just as delicious!

  • Serving Temperature: Ensure that your Moscow Mules are served well-chilled. You can even chill your copper mugs in the freezer for an extra frosty touch.
