  • 1 ¼ cups apple butter

Instructions

Preparing the Apple Butter:

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped apples, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are mixed thoroughly.
  2. Add the apple cider vinegar to the pot and stir again.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples have broken down and the mixture has thickened.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
  6. If using an immersion blender, blend the mixture until smooth. If using a regular blender, allow the mixture to cool a bit more and blend in batches, ensuring the blender lid is secure.
  7. Transfer the apple butter to a jar or container with a tight-fitting lid. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.

Preparing the Bread Dough:

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, ground nutmeg, and ground cloves. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
